Character Figures

Characters designed on paper and then built as objects — textile and polymer clay, hand-stitched and hand-painted. Made for galleries, shops and my own shelf.

Case study

Salvador Dalí

A drawing taken through proportion, pattern and construction until it stood up as a character you could hold. Which few features carry the recognition — and what can be thrown away?

Studies from Children’s Drawings

A child draws a sun with a face, or a bird with the legs in the wrong place. The rules are strange and completely consistent. These take those drawings at their word and build them, without correcting the logic.

Daily Series — #My‑Daily‑5

One stylized piece a day, inside a fixed frame, palette and finish. A standing exercise in producing a clean concept quickly under someone else’s rules — creatures, objects, symbols and established characters.

Botanical & Scientific Illustration

Coloured pencil and ink. Accuracy is the brief: the proportion, the structure and the identifying detail have to be right before anything else is allowed to be beautiful.

Signage & Lettering

Four and a half years of hand-lettered and illustrated retail artwork at Whole Foods Market — weekly promotions, seasonal campaigns and permanent displays, all produced inside an established brand standard on a schedule that never moved.

About

I make images that communicate before a word is read.

Ten years of drawing for a living — digital painting, botanical and scientific illustration, large‑format environmental work, editorial art, and characters built as objects in cloth and clay. My training is in fine art and illustration, and my practice is grounded in observation.

I work primarily in Photoshop and Illustrator, and by hand. Everything here is hand‑drawn and hand‑made — there is no AI‑generated imagery on this site.

Based in Toronto. Available for concept, character and illustration work.
